Charlotte and Cammy’s cottage garden wedding

Charlotte and Cammy’s cottage garden wedding

Charlotte first came to see us back in June 2021, she was looking for a dress that was comfortable and floaty and she requested a soft delicate lace that wouldn’t irritate her skin. Charlotte fell in love with our Freedom Collection chiffon slip dress and our lace poncho, she especially loved the way the poncho ‘swooshed’, but the lace was a little bit heavy for her so we showed her one of our boleros in cobweb like lace and she fell in love with the concept of having a poncho made in the softer lace. Tell us about the journey to your wedding day?

We had both spoken a lot about wanting to propose to the other for a long while, I think the covid pandemic delayed things a little. In the end Cammy beat me to it and proposed on our anniversary with an indoor picnic in our living room as it was chucking it down outside. We’d discussed a lot of what we might want for our wedding day before together and both really enjoyed the process of planning. We brought a physical binder to glue all our ideas into and it was a really lovely activity to do together in the run up to the big day.

Tell us about your wedding day. What was your theme? Did it all go to plan? What was your most memorable moment?

We both always wanted a wedding venue that had a cottage garden feel with tons of flowers, bees and butterflies, we immediately fell in love with Middleton with its gorgeous wisteria filled walled garden. We ended up going with a sweet pea and wisteria colour theme of pinks, purples and blues.

We were very fortunate in having perfect weather, sunny but not too hot. Small things didn’t go exactly to plan but both of us barely noticed as we were so wrapped up in each other. The best moment of the day by far was Cammy saying I Do far too soon, super eager, making all our family and friends laugh. The whole ceremony we couldn’t stop laughing and smiling surrounded by everyone we love.

Would you do anything different? What tips would you give couples from your experience of planning your wedding and the day itself?

The day itself goes by so fast, I am not sure if I would do anything differently but I would definitely try and savour each moment more if I could.

Tell us about what you had in mind for your wedding gown?

For my dress I had always wanted something very romantic, vintage inspired, flowy that I could spin around in and Lynette and Luci absolutely made that happen. The minute I tried on the freedom collection it immediately felt like my dress, the beauty of the collection is that I could make it completely unique to me.

Tell us how you found Boho Bride

I knew I wanted a boho and vintage inspired dress as that is my usual fashion style so I googled boho wedding dress shops near Birmingham and found Boho Brides website and just loved everything about it.

Tell us about your experience with Boho Bride

From my first appointment with Lynette I felt very welcomed, I had been experiencing a major eczema flare up for about a year and felt very self-conscious about trying on dresses but Lynette was incredibly helpful, especially in helping me choose lace from their collection which was super soft on my skin. Luci constructed my gown so beautifully and each fitting meant that the dress was incredibly comfy to wear all day and made me look beautiful.

Tell us how you accessorised your wedding gown

With Lynnette’s help I picked out some lovely accessories with a pearl theme running throughout, the little pearls on the veil caught the light beautifully and the lace hairband with freshwater pearls added a vintage classic touch that really matched the venue setting.

What did you feel like in your wedding gown?

I felt so beautiful in the dress and couldn’t stop twirling around in it, the poncho looked very elegant in the lace we picked out creating a beautiful gossamer effect when back lit.
