Real Bride- Beth and James’s Autumn Wedding

Real Bride- Beth and James’s Autumn Wedding

Beth came to see us hoping to find a dress that was comfortable, relaxed and with a free-spirited boho vibe.

We nailed it on her first appointment to a bridal boutique and the first dress she tried on.

Beth chose a tulle overlay with a 70’s vibe by Freda Bennet and our Gracie slip dress with lace straps in Leha satin for the underdress.

Beth loved the idea of being able to take the tulle overlay dress off revealing her silky slip dress for the evening party, which she wore with a cool biker jacket, embroidered with the first dance lyrics.

I love the Autumn vibe of this wedding with it’s knitted pumpkins and deep pops of colour including Beth’s shoes and James’s velvet jacket.

Here is Beth and James’s wedding day story.

Tell us about the journey to your wedding day?

It went very fast, we planned the wedding in a year which felt like it would be ages but is no time at all. It was good as we couldn’t over think things and went with our gut for our decisions.

Tell us about your wedding day. What was your theme? Did it all go to plan? What was your most memorable moment?

I had no idea what to expect but it was amazing. We didn’t have a strict theme but went with lots of autumnal colours, with celestial inspired detail and lots of velvet!  The day ran so smoothly as the team at Curradine were amazing. I’ve got two memorable moments- my dad seeing me for the first time in my wedding dress was really special and hadn’t really been planned. His reaction was so lovely and having that moment with my family before the ceremony was perfect. The other was again unplanned. The reception room had a balcony and as the DJ played ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’, James and I walked onto the balcony to have a look at everyone dancing but when they noticed we were up there everyone started singing it to us and we were singing it back to them.

Would you do anything different? What tips would you give couples from your experience of planning your wedding and the day itself?

I’m sure I could find lots things to do different if I thought about it but it was a beautiful day and I got to marry the most amazing man which was the important bit so I’d keep it all the same.

A great tip we were given was if your guests and having a good time, you’ll have a good time which really proved true.

Tell us about what you had in mind for your wedding gown?

Something soft and romantic.

Boho wedding dresses

Tell us how you found Boho Bride

My mom did a bit of googling and found Boho Bride

Tell us about your experience with Boho Bride

I had a lovely time finding my dress and the beautiful veil when I came with my mom. Beyond ‘the vibe’ I didn’t really have much in mind and was pretty open to trying all sorts. We had a lovely cup of tea and I got to try on so many incredible dresses. Though, of course, it was the first one I tried on I went with! Such a lovely shop with a calm atmosphere which is what any bride needs.

Say yes to the dress

Tell us how you accessorised your wedding gown

I accessorized with the amazing veil from Boho Bride, I had dried flowers plaited into my hair to create a flower-crown look and a splash of colour with red velvet shoes from Harriet Wilde to match the Groom’s suit.

The tulle day dress came off to reveal a slip underneath for the evening, which I paired with a leather jacket from Niamh Designs embroidered with our first dance lyric.
