Real Bride alert! Laura and Adam’s wedding
Laura and Adam’s long awaited wedding.
Laura and Adam, actually won their wedding in a completion sponsored by BBC CWR back in 2019.
Boho Bride was asked to provide the brides wedding dress for the competition, which we were absolutely delighted to do for such a deserving couple. Read the full story here
Laura came to see us with her beautiful daughters and mum Helen back in 2020 , she was very nervous and was especially worried we wouldn’t have anything that would flatter her beautiful curves. Little did she know I had the perfect dress for her, which Laura looked amazing in and she said “made her feel like a bride”
Then Covid hit and everything went on hold, with two postponed wedding dates Laura finally got to wear her perfect gown and say “I do”
Here is Laura and Adam’s wedding day story.
Tell us about the journey to your wedding day? We had to postpone twice due to Covid, whilst it was upsetting, we also wanted the build-up, bridal shopping, hens etc. We had to re-evaluate our reason for getting married when times were hard and realized we wanted the big day with friends and family but also the actual marriage. I wanted to get married before I turned 40 but in the end, we got married 3 days before I turned 42!
Tell us about your wedding day. What was your theme? Did it all go to plan? What was your most memorable moment? The theme was just elegance. We like streamline and no clutter so the brief was white only and no clutter. We also wanted it to be relaxed so had lots of entertainment to keep our guests occupied!
I, Laura, was very overwhelmed and actually fainted 10 mins before the ceremony. I am a stickler for timekeeping so everyone thought it was funny that I was 30 mins late to my own wedding. Everything else went to plan perfectly.
Would you do anything different? What tips would you give couples from your experience of planning your wedding and the day itself? I wouldn’t change a thing. The one thing we did was go to our room and spend half an hour together to breathe and take stock of what we had just done, I would recommend this to everyone. Also, only you know what’s planned so if something isn’t quit right it’s only you that know!
Tell us about what you had in mind for your wedding gown? To be honest I was half dreading it as I am a size 20 and thought I would look awful in everything. I knew I wanted straps and elegant with not too much detail.
Tell us how you found Boho Bride. I knew about Boho Bride anyway but was over the moon to have won the dress in a competition.
Tell us about your experience with Boho Bride it could not have been better. Lynette was so communicative, especially surrounding Covid. I came with my mum and I found the whole experience amazing, with lots of laughs along the way. I trusted Lynette’s experience to choose a dress for me and it ended up being ‘the one’
Tell us how you accessorised your wedding gown. I wanted to keep it simple so opted for a long veil with pearls and Lynette and team put poppers in my belt so that I could pop it off for the evening and I added a glitzy belt.
How did you feel in your wedding gown. A million dollars. I wish I could wear it every day- in fact I might!
Any other comments are welcome. Thank you to Lynette and team. I know I lost weight to get into my dress but I think even if I hadn’t, I would have felt amazing! I will miss you x
